Nine Bar, Narborough
Road. If you are to follow the fruli trail this
is your best starting point. Even though this is
close to the university it's not all students, it
has a good mix. The atmosphere
is lively and often has a dj playing some good tunes.
|
|
| It's a relatively small
pub, but a little corker. While your in here make
the decision to either go on the full trail or the
mini trail, if you decide on a full mission just
have the one, otherwise stay for a couple to start
the night off in style. On a sunny day chill-ya-boots
outside with a strawberry sensation... you won't
be disappointed you started here! |

Sutra, Narborough Road. Literally
a few yards down from nine bar you will find Sutra,
a new classy joint that has recently had a big makeover.
This was a Hogans bar, although you would never
guess that now. |
| Although classy, this pub has yet
to make its name on Narborough road, so needs a
few more punters for atmosphere. They've got one
thing spot on though and that's the fact they serve
fruli... a good second stop! |

The Looking Glass,
Braunston Gate. Continuing in the same direction,
go right to the bottom of the road and follow the
corner round onto Braunston Gate. Here you will
find The Looking Glass.
When you first enter you may think we have fed you
a line and they don't serve the red juice at all.
Don't worry, they do, it's just a little hidden.
Another cracking pub, with an excellent atmosphere.
Also if you like a little live music, there is usually
someone downstairs playing an acoustic set... what
more could you ask? |

The Rutland and Derby Arms.
Friday July 22nd at approx. 22:00 we discovered
fruli for the first time.
I actually conned my mate into ordering it for a
laugh saying it was a fantastic drink even though
I'd actually never tried it.
The rest however... is history. |
 |
| If your not following the fruli trail
at all, and want to stop in one place all night,
this would be my recommendation. When you walk in
you will be astounded at the shear amount of beer
taps... fantastic. Its also has a nice outside area
at the rear. This is the only pub I've found that
serves Cranberry Fruli on draught as well. So I
know the walk was a little long from the looking
glass, but hey, it was worth it! |

The Basement. A good pub to
finish on, you go straight down the stairs and what's
the first thing to hit you... Fruli.
There's always a bit of music playing and sometimes
a few people getting down to the funky beat! (well,
time is getting on and a few sherbets have been
sank). |
|
| Have your final fantastic fruli in
the Basement and decide what to do with the rest
of your night. Clubbing, eating or worst case scenario...
bed. Whatever you choose, you will be safe in the
knowledge you've just completed a damn fine fruli
trail. |
